Crest Medical Ltd completes the acquisition of Irripod® and Stericlens® brands from CD Medical Ltd, strengthening its Wound Care portfolio

Crest Medical Ltd is pleased to announce that it has acquired two highly differentiated wound care product brands, Irripod® and Stericlens®, from CD Medical Ltd.

Irripod® is a preservative-free, isotonic, class IIa sterile solution of sodium chloride in water, used for topical irrigation and cleansing of wounds. Launched in 2003, Irripod® has established a reputation for reliable quality, effective innovation and cost-efficiency.

Stericlens® is a versatile topical irrigation and wound cleansing system. Regarded as a current market leader in its category, Stericlens® is widely used across the NHS and private sector.

Both Irripod® and Stericlens® have high application values in many healthcare sectors, such as dental care, surgery, pharmaceutical, nursing and emergency care. Both products are gaining market traction in the veterinary care, beauty, tattoo and piercing industries.

The transaction demonstrates Crest Medical’s ambition to lead in the wound care category and supports its growth strategy through synergistic acquisitions. The existing wound care offerings by Crest Medical include two proprietary dressing brands, Advapore® (Adhesive Wound Dressing) and Advacare® (Low-Adherent Dressing), one proprietary plaster brand Microplast® and its Eye & Wound Wash Pods (Class IIa) offered under its flagship brand Blue Dot®. The addition of these two market-leading brands is an excellent complement to Crest Medical’s existing wound care offering. The post-deal strategy is to accelerate market access for these products, extend brand equity, and develop new applications and markets.

Regulatory Affairs, Purchasing, Warehousing, Customer Service, Marketing, Distribution and further new product development will now be managed by the Crest Medical team based at their headquarters in Warrington, UK.
