Crest Medical Ltd completes the acquisition of Macdonald & Taylor Healthcare's assets on 9 September 2023

Crest Medical Ltd is pleased to announce the acquisition of the assets of Macdonald & Taylor Healthcare Ltd (M&T) Located in Cheshire and established in 1976, M&T designs and manufactures personal care products and protective safety equipment in the UK.

M&T’s established brand portfolio includes a workplace safety protection and medical brand “Primeguard” targeted at the occupational healthcare sector and NHS professionals. “Primeguard” protective clothing is a range of limited life clothing and accessories such as medical coveralls, gowns, and face coverings, providing personal safety and manufactured using specialist non-woven fabrics. “Primeguard” wipes are for medical and occupational health use. These dermatologically tested antibacterial wipes provide water-free cleansing for cleansing of skin and surfaces in a range of patient care environments and situations.

The acquisition brings with it the opportunity to have modern UK based, in-house manufacturing capabilities, offering increased capacity and supply chain control. Moreover, the introduction of UK manufacturing facilities further bolsters Crest’s environmental commitments towards a sustainable future and a healthier tomorrow. Crest’s commitments to ongoing investment at the current site supports the wider economic benefits of UK-based manufacturing and will increase its capability to provide Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM), private label products to existing and new Blue-Chip clients.

Crest Medical’s ambitions to lead in the personal care and workplace protection categories supports its growth strategy through synergistic acquisitions.

The post-deal strategy is to accelerate market access for these products, extend brand equity, and develop new applications and markets.
